Thursday was my first day of class in Ecuador! I’m attending University San Francisco de Quito (USFQ) situated at 8000 ft in the Andes. To the south lies snowy Cotopaxil; downslope eastward is the Amazon Rainforest; and a 20-minute bus ride west is Quito. The public buses here come literally every minute, they are cheap ($0.25 round-trip with a student ID), and they are comfortable.
Classes are 80 minutes, entirely in Spanish. Before lunch I have three classes. After an hour for lunch I have one more class and then ride a bus home.
